What is a Teacher's Pack?

CIE offers a number of important resources to help educators teach about Islam, Muslim history, and related world history topics. Our Teacher's Pack is a special bundle of seven of our publications that you can sponsor and make available to a social studies teacher. By sponsoring a Teacher's Pack, you can ensure that teachers have the best materials on hand in their classroom, and do your part to contribute to a better understanding of world history and world religions among American schoolchildren who will be the future leaders of our nation.

You can also sponsor 5 Teacher's Packs for $1250 or 10 for $2500.

What's Included?

The teacher will receive these publications:

  • Teaching About Islam and Muslims in the Public School Classroom
    (117 pgs., retail price $12.00)
  • Muslim Holidays
    (60 pgs., retail price $10.00)
  • Muslim Women Through the Centuries
    (50 pgs., retail price $15.00)
  • The Crusades from Medieval European and Muslim Perspectives
    (76 pgs., retail price $15.00)
  • Images of the Orient: 19th Century European Travelers to Muslim Lands
    (86 pgs., retail price $15.00)
  • Beyond A Thousand and One Nights: A Sampler of Literature from Muslim Civilization
    (180 pgs., retail price $50.00)

These items are valued at $180 plus shipping & handling. Your sponsorship of $250 will cover the cost of the materials and shipping, and will also provide a contribution in support of CIE.

How It Works

CIE will send a Teacher's Pack anywhere in the United States. In our sponsorship program, your contribution will enable CIE to distribute a complimentary set of our publications to a social studies teacher with limited resources, based on our in-house database of teachers. Alternatively, you can designate a recipient of your choice, which is a great way for you as a parent or community member to establish a positive and productive relationship with a local educator.

The Teacher's Pack will be shipped to the teacher with a cover letter indicating your sponsorship of CIE's publications. Each of the seven publications will have a label on the inside front cover indicating that it was donated to the teacher and school by you. You may also be listed on our website as a sponsor of CIE's Teacher's Pack.

The process takes only a few moments. Here's how:

  1. Fill out the "Sponsor's Information" in the form below with your contact infomation.
  2. Indicate how many Teacher's Packs you would like to sponsor.
  3. Fill out the "Label Text" box with the information you would like to appear on the label that will be affixed to the inside cover of each publication in the Teacher's Pack.
  4. If you know of a teacher whom you would like to designate as the recipient of your sponsored Teacher's Pack, fill out the "Teacher's Information" section. Leave it blank if you would like CIE to select a recipient on your behalf.
  5. Click the "Submit" button and your information will be processed. We will send you an invoice for the appropriate amount by mail. You can then mail us a check or money order.
  6. You will receive a confirmation letter indicating that the Teacher's Pack has been shipped.
